Costs and subscriptions

We offer you the advantageous basic subscription so that every practice may try DentalView. In exchange for 30% infotainment you receive a great price advantage.
Yes, every subscription can be tried for 7 days. Your subscription won’t be continued if you send back the media player within the required period of time, in its original packaging and undamaged.
Unfortunately not! DentalView does not work with an ordinary media player. Just like an implant cannot be compared with a simple screw.
You can try DentalView for 7 days without any commitment (starting with the delivery of the media player). Afterwards the contract period is 24 months and automatically renewed for the same period unless you cancel. The notice period is 3 months and can only be accepted in written form using the corresponding form.
You can use any LCD TV as long as it has a PC or DV-I input. 99% of all models should be compatible.
Yes, you will be receiving the media player with all the cables necessary: 5m UTP cable (internet) + 3m VGA cable (picture) + 3m cable for audio and power.

System and installation

No, the installation of the media player is just as easy as installing an ordinary DVD player. Our media player is “plug and play”.
It’s really easy. Connect the media player to the LCD. You will also receive an instructions manual.
The media player has the following size: 440,4mm x 202mm x 64mm (WxDxH) and needs some space for ventilation. Normally the media player is not placed further than 3 meters from the LCD and can be up to 5m away from your internet connection. Many offices placed the media player in a piece of furniture for TV’s or underneath the LCD. The latter is only possible with a fixture.

Example of installation: LCD with a fixture and media player on top of the system. The cables are inside a cable rail.

Yes, this is possible. In this case, however, you must provide the longer cables (power, video, audio and internet) yourself. In some cases the VGA signal of the media player has to be converted into a coax signal (TV signal) with the help of a VGA converter, or in order to attach 2 LCD’s. This is not included in your DentalView order. The image quality may be compromised due to the quality of the cable or the converter.
No, the media player is literally “plug and play”. This means that you simply connect it to your network. With our “Plug & Play-test” you can test this before. If the test result is negative, ask your system administrator (internet provider) to open port 6009. This is really easy and does not put your network at risk. Your provider can confirm this.
Unfortunately not! Wireless networks are too unstable and therefore more vulnerable to disruption. Therefore wireless networks cannot be used.

Disruptions and defects

In 98% of all cases the cause is

  • The wrong channel is set on your LCD. Please refer to the instructions of your LCD to find out which one is the right channel.
  • Loose plugs. Please check all the plugs.
  • The media player is offline and therefore no longer connected to the internet.

Only in 2% of all cases this happens because the media player has a defect.

If you are sure that there is a defect in your media player (usually only in 2% of all cases) please send it back to us. Did you order our optional service “troubleshooting + 5 year warranty + replacement service”, you will receive a new media player within 5 business days. Should you not have ordered this option, we can carry out the repair for you. Outside the two-year warranty costs can account for up to € 150. During the repair period you need to continue to pay your fee for your chosen subscription.
Yes, there is a two-year warranty. With the option “troubleshooting + 5 year warranty + replacement service” you can extend this period to 5 years.

Others

• Our media player is “plug and play” and therefore easy to install.
• These are your benefits:

  • The media player is coupled with our online video library which is accessible from anywhere via the internet.
  • You do not need to install any programs or such, therefore PC skills are not necessary.
  • You do not need any antivirus software that requires regular updates.
  • Even in case of a network failure your media player continues to play the videos.
  • After a power failure, the media player is immediately bootable. Unlike normal computers which usually require you to enter a username and password.
  • The media player can play videos continuously over a long period of time (5-7 years)

• It is neither Windows nor Linux based (which are very susceptible to viruses, require regular updates and the purchase of expensive software licenses and cause high costs for electricity).
• Our media player is passively cooled. Standard computers are usually actively cooled which often means a shortening of their life span.
• In addition, it has no ordinary hard drive, but one as it is also used in critical systems in banks or at airports. This also increases the life span.
• Your media player is ideally designed for downloading DentalView videos. This causes your network to be the least loaded. This is unlike normal computers, where your network will slow down when downloading files.
• Moreover your media player is “backwards compatible”. This means that as long as your media player is working, you can easily use it for DentalView. Unlike normal computers which are often unable to play newer programs and software and therefore force you to purchase a new one.

The DentalView media player is combination of a server and HD player with a life span which equals about 5 years of continuous playing (standard 2 year warranty = 17,000 hours). 5 year warranty = 43,000 hours of playing. Compare this to a regular DVD player’s laser which has a life span of approx. 2000 hours which corresponds to 7 years when using it about 6 hours per week.
Here you can put together all the clips you wish to play in your practice in a user friendly way. After putting together your playlist, via the internet a signal is automatically sent to your media player and your clips can be played. Thus, your media player is virtually controlled remotely.
Yes, you can install several DentalView connections in your practice and thus show different sequences of clips or connect a media player to different LCD’s (with the same clip sequence). This, however, has to be done by you.
In order to use DentalView, your practice must have an internet connection. Any kind of internet connection may be used.
If your practice moves, you will have to ensure that DentalView moves with you. As DentalView is “plug and play”, this should not be a problem at all. If you close your practice prior to the expiration of your 2 year contract, we regard this as a termination of your contract.
You should include the DentalView system in your existing insurance (insurance value € 1,450). In the event of theft the amount for the media player needs to be paid back to DentalView.
DentalView clips are designed so that they can be played with or without sound.
